The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is the professional organization that helps architects serve the public's needs and builds awareness of the role of architects and architecture in American society. Based in Washington, D.C., the AIA has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857.

AIA members adhere to a code of ethics and professional conduct, with mandatory continuing education, that assures clients, the public and colleagues of their dedication to high standards in professional practice. These high standards differentiate AIA member Architects from non-member Architects who may not have to adhere to such standards and continuing education requirements.

The Virgin Islands Chapter of the AIA was chartered in 1967. AIA members of the Virgin Islands Chapter have the necessary knowledge and experience of local conditions and procedures, and are licensed throughout the Territory of the United States Virgin Islands.

Contact an architect who is an AIA member at the earliest stage of your planning. Member architects are ethically bound to represent your interests, and have the education, experience and vision necessary to guide you through the entire design and construction process.
